“Wheelchairs of Love” is one of the significant initiatives of our foundation over the past decade. This initiative aims to improve mobility for People with Disabilities (PwDs) in 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam by providing assistive devices which are appropriate to their physical conditions, mobility level and intended use. Through this initiative, PWDs can live independently and feel confident to be part of the community. Since 2009 until now, more than 27,000 people with mobility impairment have benefited from this initiative.

In 2021, our foundation has successfully distributed 1,772 mobility related assistive devices, including wheelchairs, tricycles and rollators to people with disabilities in 12 provinces. They are Bac Ninh, Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, Kien Giang, Phu Yen, Quang Ngai, Ha Nam, Bac Lieu, An Giang, Soc Trang, Ca Mau and Ba Ria – Vung Tau.

“My husband just passed away. I’ve got an accident so that my walking is not easy. Given this tricycle, I feel extremely happy. From now on, I can able to move more easily. It is hard for me to earn a living on my own without the tricycle”, shared by Ms. Tran Thi Bich Thuy in Kien Giang province, one of PWDs received the tricycle from our “Wheelchairs of love” initiative.

This initiative has been implemented with the collaboration of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and local social organizations in provinces, such as the Association for Poor Patients, Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, Red Cross, etc.
