Millions of footstep contribute “spring” to the disadvantaged

Thanks to the spirit of sharing from the community for the past 15 years, the Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk has contributed to social security, supporting the disadvantaged in the localities through practical activities, such as: Proving Tet gifts to the disadvantaged; Capital support; Building gratitude houses and houses of love; repairing leaking houses; raising the floor, etc. At the same time, the program also donates a part of the charity money to support HTV’s Fund of the Kind Hearts and Fund for sports talent of HCMC Department of Culture and Sports.

With support from the activity, many families have overcome poverty and achieved a more stable life. When visiting Nguyen Lan Dai, used to be a disadvantaged household in Tan Kien commune in Binh Chanh District in Ho Chi Minh City, she shared: “In 2016, my family received a loan of VND 15 million. As a result, I had money to open a grocery store at home and my husband had more fund to develop the scaffolding rental business. Now, my family has overcome poverty, we can afford to let my eldest son go to college and the younger one to go to junior high school; and our life is better than before ”.
