This is the 7th time Lawrence S. Ting Foundation has donated medical supplies to hospitals and health centers in Vietnam.

After conducting healthcare research at the provincial level, we realized that many hospitals in remote areas were underperforming due to a lack of medical supplies and equipment. To improve the efficiency of medical examination and treatment in rural areas, since 2011, the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation has partnered with MedShare Organization to provide medical supplies to healthcare facilities in need throughout Vietnam.

On November 10th, 2017, we held a handover ceremony of medical supplies and equipment from MedShare Organization to five hospitals and health centers in Ho Chi Minh City, Tien Giang, and Dong Thap provinces valued at over VND 4.7 billion. Our foundation plays the main role in connecting to and receiving donations from MedShare as well as providing all received items to beneficiary healthcare centers in Vietnam. Since 2011, we have donated thousands of packages of medical supplies to healthcare facilities in Ho Chi Minh City and regions throughout the Mekong Delta such as: Ca Mau, Ben Tre, Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Long An, Tra Vinh, and Vinh Long provinces.

In this ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kha Tu, representative of Dong Thap Department of Health, shared: “This is the 4th time we are receiving a donation of medical supplies from the MedShare Organization and the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation. Thanks to this gift, we are not only able to support more patients, especially those living in remote areas, but also contribute to a decrease in the patient overload rate that has been occurring with more frequency in said health facilities. We hope that this support can be maintained and expanded in the next coming years, and we commit that we will use these medical items efficiently.”

In addition, Mr. Pham Van Luc, representative from Tan Phu Dong Health Center in Tien Giang Province, expressed: “All the medical supplies are new, useful, and are good quality. We highly appreciate the MedShare Organization and the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation’s donations as they are of large assistance to disadvantaged patients in rural areas.”
