An 18-year Journey
Lawrence S. Ting Foundation (LSTF) was established as a Vietnamese local NGO in 2005 with regards to Decision No. 5971/QĐ-UBND of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. Our focus is mainly on Education and Healthcare. It is an important means for to preserve the charitable and generous spirit of two former Chairmen at CT&D Group and Phu My Hung Development Corporation – Mr. Lawrence S. Ting and Mr Ferdinand Tsien.
During the last eighteen years, LSTF has received generous contributions from the CT&D Group, Phu My Hung Development Corporation as well as various domestic and foreign donors. Under governmental guidance on all levels and various partnerships with other NPOs and NGOs, we have implemented many programs in healthcare and education sectors.
In terms of education work, we are continuously committed to granting scholarships for high school and university students, supporting computer labs and e-learning course design competitions, sponsoring a supply of microscopes connectable to computers, and more. On the other hand, in terms of health care, we have supported the construction of two Commune Health Centers, distributed medical supplies to many medical facilities in need via a partnership with MedShare, helped foundation and build a Kidney Dialysis Unit at Nha Be District Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, distributed 30,834 wheelchairs to 63 cities and provinces among other things. Other social support related activities include gratitude house construction, workshop arrangement, emergency relief, and organizing an annual charity walk. This support have been a profound contribution to developing a sustainable community where we give.
