The 17th Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk was organized on Jan 8, 2022, and it remains our commitment to bring a warm and happy Lunar New Year to poor people.
This year, due to the prevention of COVID-19 pandemic, the Charity Walk was organized on a smaller scale than before, with around 1,000 participants. Nevertheless, with the collaborative efforts from the general public and local authorities, VND 3.4 billion has been successfully raised and transferred to the “Funds for Poor People” in District 7, 8, Nha Be and Binh Chanh, and other associations to bring a warm Tet holiday to people in need.
Speaking at the Charity Walk, our Operations Director, Mr. Phan Chanh Duong, said that “The Charity Walk has been carried out to support poor and disadvantaged people since the first year of our foundation. We appreciate many organizations and individuals who join hands with us and participate in this activity today even though difficult circumstances caused by COVID-19 pandemic.”
“HCM City has just gone through a very tough period because of the pandemic and the poor people need more proper and timely support to have a warm spring. The spirit of sharing in this activity is precious.”, words from Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Ngoan, Vice Chairwoman of the District 7 People’s Committee.
Presented at this charity walk, Miss Ngoc Diem, the Miss Tourism Vietnam shared with us that “I am really happy and excited to join this meaningful charity walk so as to support the disadvantaged people. This activity is a way to spread love to our community during the coming Tet and spring holidays”.
