We have developed initiatives to help the development and learning of underprivileged students.
Saigon South English Camp
English is recognized as one of the main languages for communication in the world. Under globalization, English ability has become an important aspect of survival in the global workplace. Saigon South English Camp was started with the hope to provide a chance for disadvantaged students around Ho Chi Minh City to meet this need. Through the partnership with Saigon South International School (SSIS), volunteer teachers design curriculums and training materials in six subjects included English, Hello World (Social Studies), Art, Music and Sports according to different English levels. This profoundly enhances learning effectiveness and interest. Since 2015, we together with SSIS have organized five English camps with the participation of more than 194 volunteers and 738 students from junior high school.
Volunteer Social Services
Volunteer social services has been organized with the hope that, through volunteer activities, students are encouraged to learn the importance of taking care of others in society, especially those who are vulnerable. Our volunteering work assists LSTF scholarship recipients to participate in different social activities, assisting basic care for the elderly, sensitizing the good hygiene practices, etc. In 2014, 61 university students organized volunteering activities by themselves and promoted environmental hygiene, prevention of dengue fever, cholera as well as other activities related to awareness-raising in the Centers for Children with Disabilities (Trung Tâm nuôi dạy trẻ khuyết tật và chăm sóc người gia neo đơn) and Ho Chi Minh City’s Qinyu County Anxi Dongshe Cultural Center (Trung tâm Văn Hóa Xã An Thới Đông).
