“I am very grateful for the session today which has brought free medical examination for disadvantaged local people and it would be great if more sessions like this can be organized in the commune”, said Mr. Dia Van Trung – member of the Veterans Association in Cam Giang Commune, Tay Ninh Province who had just attended our Outreach Service.
Ending August, our foundation had an opportunity to bring free sessions of medical examination and medicine distribution to 180 local people at Cam Giang Commune, Go Dau District, Tay Ninh Province. Along with the kind doctor crew from Cho Ray Hospital’s Veterans Association and medical volunteers, LSTF was honoured to receive the sponsorship VND 50 million dong from the Shanghai Commercial and Savings Bank (SCSB).
With high level of enthusiasm, staff from SCSB has heartedly supported our crew and the doctors from instructing the local people to the medical examination area, to preparing the meaningful gift packages for the locals after they have finished the session later on. Yet most importantly, they all carried out these tasks with great smiles on their faces when interacting with the locals.
On the day, we received a crowded participation with local people eagerly waiting to have their names called for the health check-up. Listening to the sharing of some local people, many truly cared about their health status and wanted to attend our activity to avoid further severe health disorders.
After carrying out medical examination, 180 packages of medicine and gifts were then handed to the local people on their way out as our wish that they would always remain a good health in the future. At the end of the session, doctor Le Thanh Toan – Vice President of Cho Ray Hospital’s Veterans Association reflected that this Outreach Service trip felt like a homecoming and meant greatly to him as this was the place he used to live and work 33 years ago.
The health of the community has always been the core drive and catalyst that keep our Foundation going with the mission to bring free medical service to the people in need.
