In the past July, our Outreach Service journey continued as we departed from HCMC to pay a second visit to Phu Giao Town, Binh Duong province, with the only difference this time was we brought our service to the local people at Phuoc Sang Commune.
After a 2-hour drive, we finally reached the destination. Because of the mild climate, along with the wavy hilly terrain and narrow strips of land along the Be River, the main work of the locals here was growing rubber trees, which requires them to daily work from late night to the early morning.
Our session started at 8a.m. as usual with the local people from disadvantaged households attending after they have finished their work on the field. Our kind doctor crew from the Veterans Association of Cho Ray Hospital conducted the general internal examination to monitor and help the people better understand their health conditions, hence provided them with advices on taking better care of their health.
Our tiredness was totally swept away by the hospitality and warming smiles on the local people’s faces. The joy then became even more whole as 250 meaningful gifts of medicine and necessities prepared by our dedicated volunteers were handed out to the local people.
The health of the community has always been the core drive and catalyst that keep us going with the mission to bring free medical service to the people in need.
